I haven’t written a blog post for such a long time. Life just seems to be so busy, especially during the last year, or I have overdone things and not felt like writing. It has been quite a challenging year with some of the challenges carried forward into this year, however I am determined to not allow this to take over my life. It has not all been doom and gloom, although it has felt it often, several good things have come from 2016 , from life in general and also from the challenges last year. Continue reading
Here’s a confession for you – I wear odd shoes! Yep you read right – odd shoes! Well technically not odd in the common sense meaning of the word simply because one of my shoes is worn for medical reasons – an Aircast boot, which I wear on my CRPS foot. On my other you will usually find me with a snow boot come rain, snow, hail and shine, at minus 5 to plus 25 you will generally find me with at least one snow boot on! To compensate for two different types of footwear at the same time I will often be found in odd socks too! I do say that when I grow much older I will be that little old eccentric woman who wanders around in odd bits of clothing with a tea cosy on my head! Well, really, what do I expect – what started when I was young with wearing socks over my shoes on my walk to school in the winter (stops you slipping on ice), turns into odd shoes in middle age, and after that there is only one place to go – tea cosy hats and Nora Batty tights! I received many birthday cards recently for my birthday a few days ago; I would like to thank everyone for remembering my birthday and thinking of me enough to send me a birthday card, they have all been lovely. This one though I will truly cherish as it was created by my son using the exact same pink colours from my blog (although they look different in this photo), I am so pleased with it. Thank you son for putting thought and effort into making me smile on my birthday x
What a beautiful spring day we are having here in Northern Ireland – the sun is bright, there are big billowing white clouds, the temperature has been the warmest for what seems a long while and the daffodils are out. I started the day with not wanting to get up because I am so tired after several nights of my sleep being disturbed more than usual, however in true “push myself” fashion I was up at 6:30 am. After all staying in bed is a waste of a day even if I am feeling fatigued and exhausted. Continue reading
This evening was the first time, in what feels like a long time, that there was still a bit of light in the sky when I walked out of work at 5pm.
I love evenings like this as it can only mean one thing – spring is on its way at long last!
It makes me so happy!
This little lady:
Keeps an eye on me when I am unwell.
Tries to use her cuteness to get tit bits, like in this photo when she wanted wine but did not get!
Loves lots of sofa time cuddles.
Is a big part of our family and we would be lost without her!
I would love to hear about the pets in your life. Why not leave a comment below.
